You need a job offer and a certificate of sponsorship from a Home Office licensed sponsor.

You usually need to prove your English and may need to show funds to support yourself.
Applicants resident in Pakistan usually need a TB test from an approved clinic.

You need an offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed student sponsor.
You usually need to show money for course fees and living costs, held for a set period.
