Spain visit visa from Pakistan (Schengen short stay)

Apply to Spain for a Schengen short-stay visa when Spain is your only or main destination, for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. You apply in person at the visa centre between 6 months and 15 days before you travel, with travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, your bookings, and proof of funds for each day of your stay. Usually needed

  • Passport

    Valid at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area, with at least two blank pages, issued within the last 10 years. Bring copies of the data page and of earlier visas.

  • Visa application form (signed)

    Schengen application form (2024 model, Spanish and English), every section completed and signed; a parent signs for a child.

  • Passport-size photograph (destination specification)

    One recent colour passport-size photo, light background, face fully visible.

  • Travel medical insurance (Schengen: at least EUR 30,000 cover)

    At least EUR 30,000 for emergency medical care, hospital treatment and repatriation, valid in all Schengen states for the whole stay.

  • Return ticket reservation and accommodation booking

    Return ticket reservation, and a hotel booking or organised trip confirmation (or an invitation letter from a private host).

  • Bank statement / proof of funds

    Funds of EUR 122.10 per person per day of stay and at least EUR 1,098.90 in total (2026 amounts; the Embassy page still shows the 2025 amounts of EUR 118 and EUR 1,065). At the border, bank letters and online statements are not accepted.

    Leave letter or no objection certificate from your employer.

  • Salary slips

    Recent salary slips, as evidence that you will return to your job.

  • Business registration (SECP, chamber of commerce or similar)

    If you run a business: its registration (for example SECP or chamber of commerce certificate) and recent business bank statements.

  • Invitation letter from host or business

    Family or friends: an invitation letter (carta de invitacion) from your host, which proves accommodation only. Business: an invitation from the company. Events: registration or entry passes.

  • Letter from the treating hospital or clinic abroad

    Letter from the hospital or clinic in Spain confirming the treatment and how it will be paid.

  • Polio vaccination certificate (NIMS/NADRA)

    Pakistan exit requirement, not a visa document: when you leave Pakistan you must show a NIMS/NADRA vaccination certificate including polio (the old paper card is no longer accepted, and since 14 September 2026 airports check a NADRA-integrated vaccination record). Verify current rules.

  3. Prepare documents

    Schengen application form (2024 model), one photo, passport, travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, proof of the purpose of the trip, accommodation and funds, and proof that you will return.

    Give your photo and fingerprints (not needed under 12, or if given in the last 59 months). Keep the receipt code to follow the application online.
