A Spain work visa is for a job with an employer in Spain, including seasonal work. Your employer first gets the initial residence and work authorisation for you, and you then apply for the visa within one month. Usually needed

Passport-size photograph (destination specification)

Approved residence (or residence and work) authorisation from Spain
Original and a copy of the initial residence and work authorisation, signed by your employer.
Medical certificate (public health)
Medical certificate from a Pakistani government hospital that you have none of the diseases with serious public health effects under the International Health Regulations 2005.
Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC)
Proof that you live in the Embassy's district, for example your CNIC (original and a copy).
Needed in some situations
Police character certificate
Police certificate from the National Police Bureau, Islamabad (and any other country you lived in during the last five years), issued within the last six months, apostilled and translated.
Parents' authorisation for a minor
Aged 16 or 17: a parent's identity document and proof of the family link; a parent signs the form.
Polio vaccination certificate (NIMS/NADRA)
Pakistan exit requirement, not a visa document: when you leave Pakistan you must show a NIMS/NADRA vaccination certificate including polio (the old paper card is no longer accepted, and since 14 September 2026 airports check a NADRA-integrated vaccination record). Verify current rules.

Your employer applies in Spain
Your employer in Spain applies for the initial residence and work authorisation for you, at the immigration office in Spain (Oficina de Extranjería, verify). As a rule Spain checks that the job cannot be filled locally, unless it is on the list of hard-to-fill occupations (verify). You must be 16 or over.

National visa form, a photo, your passport, the authorisation signed by your employer, a police certificate from the National Police Bureau, Islamabad, issued within the last six months, and a medical certificate from a Pakistani government hospital. All foreign documents must be apostilled (Pakistan: MOFA apostille) and, if not in Spanish, come with a Spanish translation; the Embassy expects a sworn translator (traductor jurado) for national visas (verify).

Apply in person within one month of the day your employer is notified of the approval: at the Embassy with an appointment by email (emb.islamabad.sc@maec.es), or at TCS Visatronix in Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi.

The Embassy decides within one month; collect the visa in person. Register with Spanish Social Security before you start work. If the authorisation is for more than six months, apply for your foreigner identity card (TIE) within one month of registering. Seasonal work: the visa covers the authorised period, up to 270 days.
