Italy visit visa from Pakistan (Schengen short stay)
An Italy visit visa is a Schengen short-stay visa for up to 90 days when Italy is your main destination. You book and apply at the BLS-Intiana visa centre for the area where you live (Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi or Quetta), with apostilled Pakistani documents, insurance of at least EUR 30,000 and funds on Italy's scale for your length of stay. The main fee is €90 (about PKR 27,900). Decisions usually take 15 to 45 days.

Passport
Your passport and one copy, valid at least three months beyond the visa, with copies of earlier visas and entry and exit stamps.
Visa application form (signed)
The Schengen application form, filled in and signed.
Passport-size photograph (destination specification)
One recent passport photo meeting the ICAO standard.
Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC)
A copy of your CNIC and a residence certificate: you can apply only in the area where you live.
Family Registration Certificate (NADRA)
NADRA Family Registration Certificate in English, with an apostille. Visiting your spouse: also the Nikah Nama or marriage registration certificate, with an apostille and an Italian translation.
Travel medical insurance (Schengen: at least EUR 30,000 cover)
Travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, valid in every Schengen country and covering emergency treatment, hospital care and repatriation. Your host may buy it for you.
Return ticket reservation and accommodation booking
Return flight booking and bookings for travel inside the Schengen area; a hotel booking for the whole stay, or your host's hospitality declaration.
Bank statement / proof of funds
Bank statements for the last six months, signed and stamped by the bank. Fixed deposits are not accepted; for a credit card, a copy and proof of its limit.
FBR income tax return / wealth statement
Your NTN certificate (or exemption) and the FBR acknowledgements of your tax returns for the last two years; employees, income tax returns for three years. If you have none of these, other documented evidence of your income or means of support.
Needed in some situations
Invitation letter from host or business
Family or friends: your host's hospitality declaration on the Embassy's form, with a copy of their ID (the host also tells the local police within 48 hours of your arrival). Events: the organiser's invitation. Business: an invitation on the company's letterhead signed by its legal representative, with your name, position, purpose, dates and who pays, a copy of the signatory's ID, a Chamber of Commerce extract under 6 months old, and proof of your business relationship (invoices, shipping papers or trade fair booking).
Employer reference or leave letter (NOC)
Your employment contract and a leave letter from your employer with the dates, your position, salary, length of service and the trip's purpose. Government employees: a no-objection certificate with the visit dates.
Salary slips
Salary slips for the last three months.
Business registration (SECP, chamber of commerce or similar)
Business owners: company registration, the property or partnership deed and the chamber of commerce registration.
Letter from the treating hospital or clinic abroad
A letter from the Italian hospital (private ones accredited with Italy's health service) with the treatment, start date, length and cost; proof of a 30% deposit and funds for the full cost; a Pakistani doctor's certificate and one from a doctor accredited by the Embassy.
Polio vaccination certificate (NIMS/NADRA)
Pakistan exit requirement, not a visa document: when you leave Pakistan you must show a NIMS/NADRA vaccination certificate including polio (the old paper card is no longer accepted, and since 14 September 2026 airports check a NADRA-integrated vaccination record). Verify current rules.
